Birth of a New Organization

The Launch and first Inaugural meeting of Board of Directors, Trustees, as well as members of Memon community at large from around the globe in excess of 600 guests were present at Brother Yousuf Tar's residence in Beverly Hills, CA which was held on July 19th, 2008.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES of Memon Organization of North America (MONA)

The primary purpose of this "not-for-profit" organization is to act as the central Memon Community in North America, to promote, develop and support, humanity throughout the world in all aspects of life. The objective of this organization shall be among others, to foster better community relations between all religious, social, ethnic and national groups for the good of the society as a whole and to make coordinated and concerted efforts to resolve the economical, educational, social, cultural, medical rehabilitation and other problems that may be faced by the Memon community. The objective shall be attained by soliciting and utilizing contributions. The specific and primary purpose of this organization is to raise funds for charitable and educational purposes which meet the requirement for tax exemption provided by Section 3701(d) of the California Revenue and Taxation Code and Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code of 1986.

Board of Trustee Mr. Abdul Cassim Moosa handed out First Check as a donation to UMMA Community Clinic (United Muslim Medical Association), 2nd  Check of $10,000.00 for four burial lots for any needy Muslim in USA.

Assalam o Alaikum 

It is my pleasure and great honor to Congratulate the Board of Trustees Mr. Abdool Carrim Moosa Mr. Farooq Vakil Mr. Salim Adaya  Mr. Yousuf Tar and Board of Directors Mr. Arif Merchant Mr. Abdul Wahab and Mr. Sattar Zackaria in fulfilling my long awaited  personal dream to see a very successful launch and Inauguration of Memon organization at the residence of Yousuf Tar Bha yesterday July 19th, Beverley Hills California, Mrs. Hanifa Tar thank you for opening the doors and welcoming 600 plus Memon guests and members of MONA to your residence. Mr. Farooq Vakil thank you for sharing with us your short and long term goals for Memon community of Southern California.

Thank you gentleman for joining us in our noble undertaking and visiting us. Mr. Iqbal Khamisani and family thank you for inviting youth and teenagers and introducing the future leaders of tomorrow to MONA. I would like to thank all the Memon families who came from Riverside, Orange County, San Bernardino, Los Angles and San Diego counties with toddlers and Senior Parents . 

Thank you Memon brothers and sisters for to visiting us from Pakistan, Dubai, and Arizona, I must thank all the family members of  Adaya, Adamjee, Bawany, Dawood, Dada, Divan, Gazhani, Khamisani , Kolsi, Lakhani , Motiwala, Parekh, Padri, Rokerya, and Tar who attended in large numbers and made Memon inauguration event the history for Los Angeles.
