Visit to Memon Industrial and Technical Institute (MITI) in Korangi. On February 11, 2014, Abdul Ghaffar Variend was invited to visit Memon Industrial and Technical Institute known as MITI, located in Korangi, Karachi. Last year it completed 10 years of its establishment. This institute is like a Polytechnic, various types of technical courses are taught to students. For the last four years, it has started courses for ladies as well. Most of the students are those, who were not able to complete their studies at Colleges or Universities. For them MITI is a source of becoming skilled technicians and look for good jobs. MITI is also a vocational and technical training institute for the youth (both Boys and Girls) offering a wide variety of technical, IT, multimedia and home economics courses/disciplines. MITI has been setup under the supervision of WMO - World Memon Organization. Abdul Ghaffar Variend was given a tour of all the departments of the Institute, where he observed students busy in there vocational training under the guidance of experienced trainers. All the equipment and tools for practical training were available to train them on hand. In fact. MITI is part of progress, prosperity and development of Pakistan, since at MITI, youths are trained to go forth to serve Pakistan. Those WMO officials, who are involved in MITI included Messrs. H.M. Shehzad, Pir Mohd Kaliya and Shoaib Ismail Mangrolia and many others.
